Disability Insurance
Medical students and Physician’s Assistant students are required to enroll in a disability insurance plan selected by HWCOM to cover chronic disability that occurs as a result of injuries received during their educational training period. Students are responsible for payment and are informed about this requirement and annual fee prior to Orientation. Disability premiums are collected by the Office of Student Affairs. Disability insurance must be renewed annual for the entire period the insured is enrolled as a medical student.
The disability insurance plan selected by HWCOM is through Med Plus Advantage. Students can access the certificate of insurance, along with other information such as brochures and claim forms by visiting www.medplusadvantage.com
