Below are some sample letters you may receive from MassHealth and BCBSMA after you have been enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan:

MCO Termination Notice

This letter is mailed from MassHealth and confirms you are not losing your MassHealth coverage; however, your MCO is being replaced by the Student Health Insurance Plan. >>>

SHIP Acceptance Letter

This letter is mailed from MassHealth and confirms you have been approved for the MHPA Program and therefore enrolled in the Student Health Insurance Plan. >>>

Evidence of Coverage Letter

This letter is mailed from BCBSMA and confirms you have been enrolled in the BCBSMA plan through SHIP. You are not responsible for the premium as MassHealth pays the annual insurance cost on your behalf. >>>

Social Security Number Request Letter

This letter is from BCBSMA and requests your SSN for tax purposes. This information is not provided to BCBS when you are enrolled in the SHIP. Therefore, if you file taxes in the U.S., you should comply with this letter and report your SSN to BCBS. If you are an international student and do not file taxes in the U.S., you do not need to respond to this request. >>>
