Pharmacy Network Information

FIU Pharmacy

The FIU Pharmacy located at SHS MMC campus is a complete outpatient pharmacy staffed by a licensed pharmacist. The Pharmacy fills prescriptions from FIU medical staff and outside physicians. A wide variety of over the counter medications can also be purchased on site including organic product lines such as Kiss My Face and Burt’s Bees. Our Pharmacy offers medications at substantially discounted pricing.

The Pharmacy also offers Express Checkout and Delivery Services on campus where you may call (305) 348-5963 to order your prescription refill.

Fall and Spring Semesters:

  • Mon & Tues: 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Wed, Thurs & Fri: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
    Summer Semesters and Break Weeks
  • Monday-Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

PHARMACY NETWORK INFORMATION

The prescription drug program is available through the UnitedHealthcare Pharmacy Network. United's pharmacy network includes national retail pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens, Brooks, Eckert Drugs, as well as local independent pharmacies. To locate a participating pharmacy, call United at: 1-855-828-7716 or visit www.uhcsr.com and click on "Student Health Insurance & Plans".

To pay only a co-payment for prescriptions they must be filled at a United participating pharmacy. Show your ID card when filling a prescription to be charged the applicable copayments for your prescription drug program. If a prescriptions needs to be filled prior to receiving your ID card, you can pay for the prescription and seek reimbursement by completing a UHC Pharmacy Reimbursement Form and submitting it with the pharmacy receipt.

Mail Service Prescription Drug Program

Medications that are taken for a chronic condition can be filled for up to a 90-day supply using United Healthcare's (UHC) Network Pharmacy Mail Service Prescription Drug Program. Mail order Prescription Drugs are available at 2.5 times the retail copay up to a 90 day supply up to the maximum allowed benefit.

The Mail Order program is not available within 45 days of the 2018-2019 policy terminating. Please consult with your provider to have your monthly prescriptions filled at your local retail pharmacy. The Mail Order program will available again for the 2019-2020 policy year.
