Student Health Center

Our Mission

The Thomas B. Rudd Health Center, is dedicated to maintaining the health and safety of the students of Hamilton College. We promote a healthly lifestyle by educating and providing preventative medical care, diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury, with consultation and/or referral to other health care professionals when appropriate.

The Health Center is closed during Thanksgiving, December break, Spring Break, and during Summer Break. During clinic hours, medical and nursing care are provided. Students are seen by appointment with allowances made for emergencies. There is no fee for evaluation by the Staff. However, students will incur charges for medications and in-house labs. Students are responsible for charges incurred by referrals to specialists, hospital emergency rooms and outside labs. 

Bills for health center charges are sent weekly to the Business Office and are applied to the tuition account at a later date. The date the bill is applied to the tuition account is not the same date the student was seen at the health center. The students are provided with the original copy of the bill. If a copy is needed, a medical release must be signed by the student to send a copy of the bill home.

Effective February 3, 2009, appointments that are scheduled and not cancelled by your appointment time will incur a $10.00 fee for all "No Show" appointments! To avoid the charge, please call and cancel your appointment if you can not make it, so the appointment time may be used by someone who needs it.


The Health Center is located adjacent to the Azel Backus house, directly before the crosswalk towards the Southside of campus. Should you have problems please feel free to contact us at anytime.
