Student Health Center
Amherst College Student Health Services
The Amherst College Keefe Health Center emphasizes prevention and early intervention. The staff recognizes the influence of physical, emotional, social and environmental factors on students and incorporates these factors into health care and educational programming. In addition to providing direct patient care, the professional staff also plays an important liaison role with other campus departments and services.
The Health Center is located at 95 College Street and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00am to 5:00pm when school is in session. During the summer and breaks in the academic calendar, the Health Center operates on a reduced schedule. When the Keefe Health Center is closed, outpatient walk-in care is available evenings and weekends at University of Massachusetts Health Services while the University is in session.
General medical services provided at the Health Center are covered by the College’s comprehensive fee. X-rays, laboratory tests, specialty consultations, and hospital care are generally covered by the Student Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan. For a more complete description of Health Center services, please consult the Amherst College Student Handbook, the Health Center website, or the Health Center staff.
