18th Annual Awards Banquet

2018 marks the 18th and final year of the Gallagher Student Health Careers Scholarship Program and its banquet celebration honoring recipients for their exceptional academic ambitions in the healthcare field.

Gallagher Student Health & Special Risk has been investing in the healthcare community since 2000, providing outstanding students with financial assistance to pursue a health-related career.

Thanks to generous donations made by partners and their parent company, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., the Gallagher Student Health branch is proud to have had the opportunity to award 10 scholarships of $7,500, which is four more scholarships than usual. Over 80 scholarships have been awarded since the Program’s inception 18 years ago.

Scholarship recipients are selected by the Scholarship Board of Directors, a distinguished group of higher education professionals, and are given the option to utilize the funds for tuition, textbooks, class materials, living expenses, computers or other academic equipment of their choice.

This holistic approach to financial support for students emphasizes Gallagher Student Health’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and investment in the future of the healthcare field.

Meeting the Gallagher Student Health Team

In addition to receiving monetary awards, the 10 Scholarship recipients were invited to a Winner’s Reception and Dinner at the Omni Parker House Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, where they were celebrated for their outstanding achievements.

Here they had the opportunity to meet the Gallagher Student Health team, the Scholarship Board members, Gallagher Student Health clients, partners and other friends and associates of the branch.

Recipients can be seen posing with Teresa Koster, GSH Division Chairman and founder of the Scholarship Program, along with the rest of the Board of Directors.

After congratulating the recipients and thanking the insurance carriers and other Gallagher Student Health partners who contributed to the Scholarship fund, Teresa used her closing remarks to reiterate the importance of the scholarship program:

“Giving back to the higher education community is near and dear to me. It’s proven to be extremely rewarding and necessary to help students succeed.”

Teresa’s underlying message throughout the evening was an endorsement of Gallagher Student Health’s commitment to the betterment of the higher education community to which we serve.
